The 7th Edition of Nollywood Week In Paris
The 2019 edition of Nollywood week in Paris closed another attempt to popularise Nigerian film makers along the banks of the river Seine.Before this outstanding edition that showcased the film heritage of Nigeria to Parisians, numerous versions of the festival have been created in many cities worldwide to the astonishment of film professionals.
A Memorable First Edition
The take-off of Nollywood week in Paris was due to the sustained efforts of Nadira Shakur and Serge Noukoué,the team of volunteers and the pedigree of the films screened during the first edition of the festival: Last flight to Abuja,Phone Swap,Mammi,Tango with Me and Man on ground.As participants,Biyi Bandele,Izu Ojukwu,Jade Osiberu,Akin Akinmolayan,Kunle Afolayan, Mahmud Ali Balogun and Tunde Kelani,consolidated the status of the festival in the years that followed the first edition in 2013.And today in the community of film buffs and within the friends of Nigeria network,the festival is a place to be for a view of Nigerian film locations,production companies and a nascent film distribution industry.
Reasons Behind Nollywood Week Popularity
