A Good Year For Memoir Publishing in Nigeria Part- Two

In the evening of November 19,as Prof. Itse Sagay, the author of All will be well and Dr Yemi Ogunbiyi who released The Road Never Forgets, walked into the lecture hall. The public composed of anonymous readers, the board members of CORA and popular literary figures like Prof. Akachi Ezeigbo looked forward to a memorable literary evening.

Unfortunately a last minute change of venue made this author to move to Ester's Revenge Hall to continue his participation in the session of the Association of Nigerian Authors. That was opened by Adewale Maja Pearce, the CEO of the Newgongpress on building a financially self sustainable literary community and reading from Receive My Hello by Ifeanyichkwu Avijah.

As the Year 2022 was Closing

Two other notable events outside the scope of LABAF  consolidated  the special place of memoir publishing in 2022.The first event was the publication of The Letterman by Musikilu Mojeed, that showed the penmanship of a former war commander, head of state and his commitment to historical memory preservation and archival work.An initiative that will enable Historians and Public Affairs specialists to understand  better the successor of General Murtala Muhammed in 1976.

A Journalistic Landmark

Both senior journalists and freelancers will like A Reporter And His Bit, by Yinka Fabowale. For example, this author participated in a training workshop where at the end of the workshop, the trainer asked participants to talk about their positive and negative editor-writer relations. He remembered that all the participants in that workshop were eager to recount their experiences and that is why A Reporter And His  Bit by a man who worked with Tell Magazine, The Guardian and The Sun must be on our To read list.
